Jennifer Lawrence breaks into music charts with Mockingjay single

Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has secured a top 40 single.

The 24-year-old Hunger Games star has lent her voice to The Hanging Tree by composer James Newton Howard, which features on the soundtrack of the latest release in the film series, Mockingjay - Part 1.

The song is at number 29 in charts, mid-week sales figures from the Official Charts Company show.

Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the 2012 film Silver Linings Playbook.
