Lee Evans to quit comedy to spend time with family
Lee Evans is to quit comedy to spend more time with his family.
The 50-year-old actor and comic told Jonathan Ross his comedy career was "finished" after his current Monsters tour finishes at the end of November.
He added the death of his manager Addison Cresswell last year had also "put things in perspective".
"I don't know, I've come to a junction in my life where - please forgive me it sounds very narcissistic - I've done musicals and plays and films and stand up and you sort of get to a point where you go 'I don't know what else to do next
"I want to go and see my wife, she deserves my time, I've been working solidly," he said.
Evans found fame in the 1990s with his energetic, slapstick stage shows which drew comparisons with Sir Norman Wisdom, and became one of Britain's highest band stand up artists.
He later appeared in theatre and Hollywood films including Mouse Hunt and There's Something About Mary.
