Spanish side Real Sociedad have confirmed they have spoken to David Moyes over their managerial vacancy.

The president of the Basque club, Jokin Aperribay, says they have spoken with the former Manchhester United boss, as well as three others, including ex-West Brom manager Pepe Mel.

Real Sociedad sacked their manager Jagoba Arrasate following a poor start to the season.

Moyes left Old Trafford in April after an underwhelming time in charge, as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement.

Asked about potential candidates in a press conference, Aperribay said: "It's true about Mel, it's true about Moyes, but we're also talking with more managers and maybe there will be more than that. We are talking with all that are on the shortlist and we want them to know how we operate, giving them knowledge of Real Sociedad, from the respect, to the philosophy and the youth academy."

"We really like the four, each with their own style. And there are some things that we really like a lot about them."
