UK ramps up response to Ebola outbreak in West Africa

About 30 volunteer doctors and nurses have just been briefed about the risks they'll face and precautions they'll need to take by William Pooley, the man who survived Ebola whilst working as a volunteer nurse in West Africa.

Mr Pooley is planning on going back to West Africa this Sunday, the volunteer medical staff will deploy over the next coming days and weeks.

The UK response to the Ebola outbreak is ramping up.

Dr Tim Brooks, the head the Porton Down laboratory for Public Health England has just boarded a plane to set up a lab in Sierra Leone. He spoke to ITV News earlier about why he was going:

In a further sign of the UK response, around 150 medics and logisitics staff from the British Army's 22 Field Hospital from RAF Brize Norton to Seirra Leone as part of a wider UK military involvement in dealing with this crisis.
