Toddler sparks White House security alert after crawling under fence
A toddler has sparked a security alert at the White House after crawling under a fence.
The 18-month-old child managed to make it onto the North Lawn of the President's residence at just after 8pm on Thursday, causing a brief security lockdown on Pennsylvania Avenue.
US Secret Service apprehended the "screaming" child and returned the tiny intruder to its mother.
The Secret Service said since it could not question the child, who does not yet speak, it was given a "timeout".
"We were going to wait until he learned to talk to question him, but in lieu of that he got a timeout and returned to his parents," a spokesperson told NBC News.
