Clare Balding holds on to number two position on Pink List

Television presenter Clare Balding has held on to her number two position on a list of the 101 most influential lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the UK.

This year, META magazine editor Paris Lees has came out on top in The Independent on Sunday Pink List, while human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell is in joint second place with Balding.

Last year's winner, London 2012 gold medal-winning boxer Nicola Adams, comes in at number four and presenter and comedian Sue Perkins is at number 10.

The creators of the equal marriage media campaign, Out4Marriage, come in at number seven. Activist and Miss England entrant Jackie Green is at number eight and the managing director of UK Black Pride, Phyllis Opoku-Gyimah, is at number nine.

New entries for this year are Owen Jones, co-founder of The People's Assembly, at number six and Ruth Hunt, deputy chief executive for Stonewall which campaigned for the equal marriage Bill, at number five.
