First badger cull in 15 years begins in the south west

The first badger cull in 15 years has begun in South West England, meaning that over the next six weeks around 5,000 badgers will be shot dead in Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Farmers say it will reduce the spread of TB in cattle - but protesters say it is "inhumane and ineffective".
