A jury at Birmingham Crown Court has convicted Magdelena Luczak and Mariusz Krezolek of murdering four-year-old Daniel Pelka. They will be sentenced on Friday.

Daniel's biological father has expressed his outrage at his brutal death.

Speaking from his home in Poland, Eryk Pelka said the death of his son made him want to kill Daniel’s mother Magdalena Luczak and her partner Mariusz Krezolek.

He told ITV News Correspondent Juliet Bremner: "I feel very, very bad. I want to hurt someone. I want to kill someone. I want to kill Magda. I want to kill Mariusz.

“Why, I could take [him] to me and my family and we could live together. I have three children. One more child is not a problem for me.”

Eric, who lived in Coventry with Ms Luczak before the relationship broke down, now lives with his family in northern Poland. He works as a welder and is happily married with two young daughters.

He separated with Daniel’s mother when Daniel was just 18 months old and had not seen the child in over two years. He says he still thought about hislittle boy often and does not understand how he could have been treated so badly.

Ms Luczak and Krezolek had admitted child cruelty, saying they punished Daniel for stealing sandwiches from another child’s lunchbox at school by ordering him to perform run around his living room, forcing him to kneel and perform repeated squats. He was also forced to eat salt when he complained of being thirsty, the jury heard.

Eryk Pelka says had he known what was going on he would have asked to take Daniel to live with him. He says he could not believe his former partner was capable of such cruelty and wants the couple punished.
