Success of 'gran-lit' breaks stereotypes about elderly love
A novel about finding love in later years has become a literary sensation, proving there is life in the 'gran-lit' market.
'Thursdays in the Park' by Hilary Boyd - which has been compared to a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' for the over-60s - tops Amazon's Kindle bestseller lists.
‘Old people falling in love and having passionate relationships is not a story that’s had much exposure before, but I’m in no doubt the market’s out there,’ said Boyd.
Despite selling fewer than 1,000 copies when it was first published last year, the newly issued e-book has steadily grown in popularity through word of mouth.
