Swedish fan buys beer for Ukraine PM after losing bet
A Swedish football fan has presented the Ukrainian Prime Minister with a six pack of beer after losing a bet that his team would beat Ukraine.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov had visited the official fan zone in Kyiv on Monday and said he was willing to bet any fan that Ukraine would win Monday's match. Ola Sjostedt, head of the Swedish supporters club, took him up on his offer.
In a surprising result, Ukraine beat Sweden 2 -1.
Today Mr Sjostedt visited the PM to pay his dues: six bottles of beer and a Swedish football scarf.
In return, the Swede was presented with a traditional Ukrainian shirt, a framed picture of a church and some Ukrainian beer.
The Prime Minister promised to support Sweden in their match against England on Friday: "I will support you on Friday because I want you to defeat the English."
And he has also revealed his next bet: he is offering a bottle of brandy with any French football fan that Ukraine will beat France.
