As Olympic fever hits the capital, the penguins at ZSL London Zoo have been given their own diving board.

Having already perfected their penguin-stroke and mastered the flipper-crawl, the colony of 64 penguins will now be able to practice their diving skills.

The board was installed to celebrate the zoo being awarded LOCOG's Inspired by 2012 mark for its summer Animal Athletes programme.

Head Bird keeper, Adrian Walls said:

The daily penguin feed is a time-honoured tradition at the Zoo.

It hopes its new Penguin Beach Live! demonstration will be its most popular yet, as it will gives the penguins the chance to show off their impressive skills as they dive and leap to fetch their fishy meals.
