7 things we learnt on day 2
The first recoupling of the series did not disappoint, and despite Joe doing everything in his power to keep Lucie close, Tommy decided that she was the Islander he wanted to get to know better, leaving the poor sandwich man with no one to share his packed lunch.Elsewhere, a slimy challenge saw our Islanders locking lips, and Amy had her very own movie moment when Curtis swept her off her dancing feet and into a new couple. Here's what we learnt on day 2.
1. Tommy got Lucie confused with a fast food order
There’s a lot of fit faces to greet when you enter the Love Island villa. Struggling to remember Lucie’s name, Tommy found an alternative way to single her out to Curtis as the girl he had his eye on.
“I like pink pants. I don’t know her name! Pink pants and curly hair. Curly fries… curly fries.”
“Actually that’s quite a cute name,” replied Curtis.
Eh?
2. Tommy Fury’s not so furious soft side stole our hearts
He made quite the entrance and left the villa feeling shook, but Tommy showed his softer side with this sweet little revelation while getting to know the Islanders “Everyone presumes me as a d*******. I’m anything but that - I love Hannah Montana for god’s sake!”
A hardcore boxer AND a Disney lover? Form an orderly queue, people...
3. The cheese toastie is back
“How are you going to cope with potentially eight weeks off of training?” asked Amy of Tommy after he and Curtis’s shock entrance to the villa.“Good!” he said.“Bring on the cheese toasties,” she replied as Tommy’s eyes lit up. Can we get one please? Extra ketchup, thanks.
4. Joe is catching some fast, fast feels...
Joe woke up with a hard case of the feels, buzzing through the kitchen as he gushed to Sherif about his night of chatting and spooning with Lucie. “I feel like I’m getting more and more into her. It’s only a day and it feels like I’ve known her for time.” Don’t get too comfy Joe…
5. …and takes risks in the shower
Soap in the eye! Soap in the eye!
6. Amy’s flirting tactics had a bit of a whiff about them
Amy and Curtis spent some time bonding over a love of dogs - in the purest way possible, but just as things looked to be getting cute, Amy changed up her flirting tactics. “What’s your favourite breed of dog?” She asked the pro-dancer.“I’d like a big dog that I can wrestle,” replied Curtis“The bigger the dog, the bigger the poo though,” she remarked.
You’re not wrong Amy, to be fair.
7. The first recoupling's already changed the game
What's that? Oh, the sound of Joe's heart breaking as Tommy swooped in and took Lucie from that cosy little spot next to him.
