10 things we learnt on day 9

Kisses, couples and whispers of being exclusive... love was definitely in the air on day 9 in the villa. While Danny continued to settle in, Amber and Michael took their relationship to the next level and shared a steamy kiss. Curtis and Amy's romantic night in the Hideaway saw them make things (half) exclusive, while Lucie and Joe soon followed suit after a romantic paddle board date. Here's what we learnt.

1. The kitchen’s had a tropical glow up

We love what you've done with the place boys.

2. It’s tiring having a villa full of hot guys grafting you

They're busy having their pick of the boys... while this is just us every time we over order on the takeaway. For one.

3. Our Islanders often leave us baffled...

...but this is a new one.

4. That is one sexy Love Square™️

Watch out for those sharp edges… and we’re not just talking about Danny’s jaw.

5. We’re SO here for shy Amber

They've been playing it cute for over a week now, and when Michael decided it was time to reveal his feelings for Amber, there was only one place to do it.

"I don’t want to put loads of pressure on you, but I am attracted to you," the firefighter admitted in a quiet moment between the pair. "I’m not trying to get to know anyone else. I feel nervous around you, in a good way,” he added.

“I feel shy!" a giggling Amber replied. That's right. Amber. Giggling and SHY.

The roof terrace strikes again!

6. Curtis really knows how to set the mood

Our first glimpse of the Hideaway for 2019... and this pic suggests that Curtis and Amy really are really living up to their villa titles of Mum and Dad.

7. Fire melts ice

Just when we thought Michael was getting a massive dollop of pie from Amber, their big moment was rescued when Amber cleaned her teeth and the first kiss finally happened, and we all breathed a massive sigh of relief that this slow burner’s finally starting to catch a flame… and the feels.

PS. Give the camera operator a raise, because that zoom is everything.

8. Joe is the villa meerkat

Michael and Amber's steamy first kiss almost went unnoticed by the other Islanders, but nothing was getting past Joe, who leapt to his feet to witness the big moment.

9. Curtis popped the question…

Kinda. They’re exclusive, but they’re not girlfriend and boyfriend. They’re not getting married, but they’re not getting to know other people.

Never mind that though, what about the fact that they’ve both been tethered to the hot tub via microphone?

10. Behold, Lucie in her natural habitat

Stunning surfer Lucie looked right at home on that paddle board, while Joe was left wondering when the sandwiches were going to arrive.

But after some wobbly moves on the water, Joe found his smooth talk back on dry land and made Jucie exclusive. CUTE.
