Nia Vardalos hints at My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3!

She wrote and starred in the most successful romantic comedy of all time, My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos joins Lorraine to reveal why it took 14 years to produce the sequel!

The Oscar-nominated actress and screenwriter, 53, told Lorraine that a lengthy fertility struggle - she underwent 13 rounds of IVF and suffered several miscarriages - as well as numerous failed adoption attempts forced her to put her career on hold.

When she and husband, actor Ian Gomez, were finally matched with their daughter Ilaria, who they adopted in 2008, Nia decided to focus on motherhood and family life. Now that Ilaria is 11 and about to start school, Nia said she feels better placed to start exploring new opportunities.

"I started to say yes to all the things I said no to over the years," she told Lorraine. "I wanted to make sure she was secure and transitioned into our home."

Asked about the prospect of a third installment of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Nia said: 'Never say never'.

"If there's a third one, I will not make you wait 14 years!"

We're keeping our fingers crossed that Toula and her wacky extended family make yet another return!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is out on DVD now.
