Brooke Vincent waves goodbye to the cobbles!
Coronation Street favourite Brooke Vincent is waving goodbye to Weatherfield (albeit temporarily) after 12 years to swing back to the sixties to make her theatrical debut.
The 23-year-old actress, who ventured onto the Corrie cobbles as Sophie Webster, aged 11, joined Lorraine to talk about swapping soap land for the stage, starring as Queenie in 1960's play Be My Baby.
The play centres around 19-year-old Mary Adams who is sent away to a mother and baby convent to give birth to her illegitimate child shame free. Mary, along with fellow residents and expectant mums Queenie, Dolores and Norma, must come to terms with their pregnancies, their lives and the fact they may never see their children again.
Although she's a mum-to-be and wears a prosthetic bump in the play, Brooke, who is dating footballer Kean Bryan, insists she's not thinking about having kids anytime soon.
When Lorraine asked whether wearing the bump had made her broody, she said: “No. I’d have the bump not the baby. It’s the baby and then they grow up and you have to feed them and all that. Got ages yet!”
Be My Baby runs for nine weeks across the UK from 14 September to 24 October.
