Stephanie Hirst
With over 14 awards and 11 years hosting Hirsty's Daily Dose on Capital FM's Breakfast Show, alongside the HIT40UK chart, Stephanie Hirst is one of radio’s biggest stars.
In 2014 Hirsty took a break from broadcasting for personal reasons and in October of that year revealed that she would now be known as Stephanie, her true female gender.
Having taken a break from the airwaves, Stephanie is back and now hosts a brand new 90s show every Saturday night on BBC Manchester as well as being a mentor on Lorraine’s Change One Thing campaign.
The proudest moment of my career is: Hosting the National UK Top 40 chart show for three years, proving I can count backwards to from 40 to one
The first thing I do in the morning is: Try to exercise as much as possible - three times a week with my personal trainer
My favourite breakfast is: Smoked salmon, with freshly squeezed lemon, cracked black pepper and avocado
The most famous person in my phone is: Lorraine Kelly (does that count?)
The actor who would play me in a film about my life is: Eddie Redmayne
If I could cook for anyone in the world it would be: Daniel Craig. To cook for a Bond would be fabulous!
My favourite memory from working on Lorraine: Taking one of the ladies I’ve been mentoring to a rock ’n' roll tea dance, on a sunny Thursday afternoon. Although I didn’t see much tea, I saw lots of dancing, drinking and happy pensioners, embracing life to the full. What a wonderful afternoon!
If I wasn’t a DJ, I’d be: I’d love to work in interior design - it’s a huge passion of mine
You'd be surprised to learn that: I can name every Christmas No 1 from 1970-1990
The one thing I couldn’t live without is: My hearing. I love music far too much.
