Linda Nolan's five-hour facelift: 'I'll be awake throughout! I'm scared but excited to see my new face'

LINDA NOLAN'S FIVE HOUR FACELIFT - WHILE AWAKE!

Linda prepared to go under the knife and have a gruelling five hour face lift today - and had our Linda Robson by her side every step of the way!

After appearing on the show earlier in the week, Linda revealed she was having a lower facelift. Explaining why she had made the difficult decision, Linda said, 'I look into the mirror and I see sadness looking back at me and that’s no longer how I feel inside.'

'My face has been through a lot with me and I can see that. I look so old, worn and drained and just so, so sad,' she added. 'Ten years ago I was happy and I looked happy and I want to look like that Linda again. I want to look the way I feel and I’m really excited to see the results.'

Linda, who has survived breast cancer and lost her husband Brian in 2007, told us, 'Some people have said you've had surgery so you're fearless now. The breast cancer surgery kept me alive, this is something that I want to do for myself.'

'I thought long and hard about it having this done and I'm doing it for me,' she added.'I had to have that surgery before, I had no choice. It was life saving. But this is just for me. I'm still scared though.'

Linda's surgeon at London's Harley Street clinic explained he was focusing on her cheeks, neck and lips, and would be making incisions around her ears to pull back her face and tighten her neck and lower cheeks. She was also having a the peel which would scrub away layers of skin around her eyes and mouth.

She added: 'It will take four hours and I'll be awake throughout it. If they hurt me I will know about it!'

‘There will be some swelling. You'll be red and bruised but will have a good idea of what you will look like when that settles,' the surgeon advised. 'It will take a couple of months to settle down.'

As for her sister Coleen finding out about the facelift when she leaves the Celebrity Big Brother house, Linda said,'Hopefully Coleen will stay till the end. She will be shocked but as she said on the show, she wants me to be happy again. I just look like her younger sister!'
