Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine on her secret wedding: 'I didn’t want to be the centre of attention!'
JENNIE MCALPINE'S WEDDING SECRETS REVEALED!
Coronation Street’s Jennie spilt the beans on her secret wedding earlier this month, explaining she and husband Chris Farr at Trafford town hall with just two witnesses because she ‘didn’t want to be the centre of attention’
'In the registry office in Manchester, our name was there and it was there for 28 days and nobody saw,' Jennie said. 'People have said to me, "weren’t your friends really annoyed?" and I thought that’s a really odd thing to say. But no, I haven’t got any friends that are annoyed at me. I love a good wedding and I hope I’m invited to lots of them, I hope this doesn’t mean I don’t get invited!'
Explaining why she and Chris wanted a small wedding with just their two-year-old son Albert there, Jennie said, 'I wanted it low key, I didn’t want to be the centre of attention. My parents knew this is what both me and Chris would do. We had two witnesses and a lovely photographer who took our pictures.'
On being a newlywed, Jennie said, 'The night before, I told him that people say they feel different when they get married. And genuinely I had a panic because I didn’t want to feel different. It just feels nicer and more complete."
Congratulations Jennie, Chris and Albert!
