Author Kathy Lette: 'I considered paying a prostitute to have sex with my autistic son Jules when he was 21'

KATHY LETTE AND HER AUTISTIC SON JULES TALK ABOUT HOW SHE CONSIDERED PAYING A WOMAN TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM

Kathy joined us today to talk about her new novel - Best Laid Plans - and how her real life relationship with autistic son Jules had influenced the storyline.

The much-loved author discussed how she once contemplated hiring a prostitute for Jules when he turned 21. Kathy explained she’d gone as far as driving through a red light district before realising she didn’t want to follow through with her plan.

'I did a recce through the red light district but at the last minute I went home,' Kathy explained. 'A few weeks later Jules met his girlfriend, fell in love and nature took it’s course.'

When our Andrea asked Jules, a popular actor in Holby City, what he thought of the idea, he replied, 'I would have thought about it. There’s parts of it I would have enjoyed probably.’

Speaking of autism, Kathy said, 'There’s no such thing as normal and abnormal. There’s ordinary and extraordinary.'
