WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Trump speaks to Piers Morgan about the Queen, Brexit and a UK deal

During his only UK broadcast interview, while he was in the United Kingdom, Donald Trump told Good Morning Britain exactly what he thinks of the Queen and a possible trade deal with the UK following Brexit.

Speaking to GMB presenter Piers Morgan onboard Air Force One, Donald Trump confessed his historic meeting with the Queen had made him emotional as it would have meant so much to his late mother.

Asked by Piers whether they had discussed Brexit, the President replied: “I did.”

He went on: “Errrr she said, ‘It’s a very’ - and she’s right - ‘it’s a very complex problem’, I think nobody had any idea how complex that was going to be...that was going to be.”

Trump added: “Everyone thought it was going to be..’Oh it’s simple, we join or don’t join, or let’s see what happens’, er, who would’ve thought this was going to be so…”

The president went on to tell Piers he was certain there was a good deal to be done between the USA and the United Kingdom following Brexit.

He said: “Oh, I think we’re going to have a great trade deal, I’ve really no doubt about it. We’re going to get it."

Piers asked: “And has Theresa May looked you in the eye and said we will get there?”

He replied: “Well, she feels she’s going to be able to make a deal and yeah. And again, I have to tell you, I really like her.”
