• This weekend saw the first instance in the UK of a 'divorce hotel' - a packaged break which offers couples the chance to check in to a luxury resort and check OUT of their marriage over a weekend. Participants don't actually get divorced in 48 hours, but all the paperwork is agreed and signed ready for the courts - with the split then be finalised within three months. Hundreds of couples in Holland and the US have already used the service - but is it trivialising divorce?

• The Parliamentary Standards Committee is preparing to meet to discuss George Osborne's new job as Editor of the London Evening Standard as he faces a growing public backlash, with a petition reaching 150,000 demanding he choose between being a backbench MP or working in a newsroom. The petition will be handed in later today at his constituency office in Tatton, Cheshire, which is 190 miles from the capital.

• Theresa May kicks off a tour of the UK today, as she faces pressure over the future of the union, ahead of firing the Brexit starting gun. She is visiting Wales this morning, where she will meet politicians and business leaders to discuss what Downing Street says are the opportunities offered by leaving the EU . She is expected to visit Scotland and Northern Ireland in the coming days too
