'He just seemed to flip': Constituent accuses MP of 'misogynistic' comments
I want him to apologise for calling us liars and I want him to admit what he's done
Jared O'Mara is facing calls for his suspension from the Labour party after allegations that the Sheffield Hallam MP made offensive and misogynistic comments to a constituent months before the election.
Sophie Evans told Good Morning Britain today that she thinks he 'absolutely' should be suspended. She said she initially met O'Mara on a dating app before bumping into him again at a club six months later, where her friend had a disagreement with him. According to Sophie, when she tried to step in to resolved the situation O'Mara hurled offensive insults at her.
"I wasn't really expecting it because we were talking on such a level - we were like, fine, talking calmly and he just seemed to flip," she said.
"It was misogynistic, it was transphobic and it was angry and aggressive."
Meanwhile, O'Mara, who has stood down from the Women and Equalities Select Committee after offensive comments he made online 15 years ago emerged, has denied the incident wth Sophie happened.
Speaking on why she continues to speak publicly despite O'Mara's claims that she's not telling the truth, Sophie said: "I want him to apologise for calling us liars and I want him to admit what he's done."
