Mum wakes from coma to boy's recording
Hello Mummy. Its Ethan. I'm fine with Nanny.
Danielle Bartley woke from a 16-day coma in tears as she heard the sound of her little boy's voice. The 35 year old was in a serious car accident which resulted in her having to be medically induced and having her arm amputated.
'I wouldn't have made it by road, and it's vital to have something like that' - Danielle praised the 'unbelievable' Air Ambulance that runs solely on donations for helping to save her life.
Vicky Bodenham from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance tells us what she saw when they landed at the scene of the car crash.
Her eight year-old son, Ethan, taped a recording of his voice asking her to wake up. The message read: "Hello Mummy. Its Ethan. I'm fine with Nanny. I need you to rest and do as the doctors say so you can wake up. I love you, Mummy." The nurses played the heartbreaking message to her every day - and then one day Danielle woke up crying to the message.
We're joined today by Danielle and Ethan to tell us more about the emotional experience.
