PM pledges to close the pay gap
We think transparency is very important
David Cameron has announced that all companies with more than 250 employees will have to publish the average pay of male and female employees.
The gender pay gap is at an all-time low but the Prime Minister says there is still more to do.
The UK has the sixth largest male to female pay gap in the EU with women on average earning around 80p for every £1 earned by men.
The new National Living Wage will primarily help women. It starts next April at £7.20 and will reach over £9 by 2020.
