Eric Bristow responds to backlash after football sex abuse tweets

There’s no use doing it 30 years later, you missed the boat

Eric Bristow

After being sacked by Sky for tweeting that abused footballers were "wimps" for not confronting their attackers, we spoke to former darts pundit Eric Bristow.

In an explosive interview in which Piers and Susanna challenged his tweets, Bristow said he hoped the message might make young people who are currently being abused speak out before it's too late.

Marilyn Hawes who founded Enough Abuse and is the mother of three children who have been abused also passionately confronted Bristow, calling him "a bully".

When pushed by our presenters Bristow apologised for the offensive tweets, saying "I apologise, it was a mis-wording."
