An exclusive investigation from Good Morning Britain has revealed that 80% of parents have had their child seats fitted incorrectly, putting their child's life at risk.

As part of our Belt Up Britain campaign we're urging every parent in the UK to check their child’s car seat is correctly fitted. This week, Halfords and Mothercare stores will be offering free checks throughout the week – regardless of where it was purchased.

Car seats will be checked at all Mothercare stores with a car park during the campaign period. A full list of campaigning stores can be found on the Good Morning Britain website.
Mothercare will check all car seats regardless of their point of purchase and will offer free advice of fitting seats that have been purchased from a Mothercare affiliated store. For any seats not purchased at Mothercare stores then Mothercare will demonstrate how to fit correctly in store.

Car seats will be checked at the Halfords stores during the campaign period. A full list of campaigning stores can be found on the Good Morning Britain website.
Halfords will check all car seats presented during the week 23 - 29 June (inclusive) are correctly fitted for free, regardless of their point of purchase. For any seats not purchased in Halfords stores then Halfords will demonstrate how to fit car seats correctly in store. If the customer expresses in hearing an interest about Halfords products then Halfords store colleagues will also offer free advice on products and fitting for those seats stocked by Halfords, with accompanying demonstrations on how to fit a seat correctly in-store where required.
