Warning! Don’t ignore your household enquiry form
A couple of weeks ago I told you to watch out for a letter from the AI scheme as it’s worth cash to you. This is the opposite - every UK household is being sent a Household Enquiry Form from their local council to check the right people are registered to vote – and if you repeatedly fail to fill it in you can be fined up to £1,000.
The form's part of the Electoral Commission's Annual Canvass, which makes sure the electoral roll is correct (it won’t register you if you’re not on it), and you must, by law, fill it in and return it. So don't mistake it for junk and bin it. Many letters are being sent now and you should get them by November at the latest (it depends on your local council.) When you get it double-check the info is correct and send it back, even if there are no changes to be made.
You have until the end of November to get it sent back, so don’t put it off, and if you haven’t received it by the beginning of November, or have already binned it then contact your local council.
