Families urged to drink water only at meals

Parents should ban fizzy drinks and juice from the dinner table so children only drink water at meal times, the Government's chief obesity advisor has said.

Professor Susan Jebb urged parents to keep cans of pop and juice drinks away from the children, and only give them as special treats in order to reduce their sugar intake.
