Declan is a shrewd businessman who know exactly what he wants and how to get it. He enjoys taking risks and prepared to double cross friends or family if it means he achieves his goal.

Although we have seen a more emotional and possibly softer side to him with his marriage to the beautiful Katie Sugden and the arrival of his half-sister Megan and nephew Robbie he still carries an air of arrogant confidence, detachment and success that ensures he has acquaintances rather than friends.
