Hotpots are off the menu

Of course we're not removing Betty's Hotpots from the menu, that would be like de-cobbling the street. Unthinkable!

The Rovers Return Inn made an announcement today that has left the residents of Coronation Street fuming.

Landlord Steve McDonald is "doing away" with the pub's traditional Hotpot, a dish which is renowned in the local community, in favour of a more modern cuisine.

The current direction we're thinking of taking is tapas. All those little dishes will go down a treat with a pint of mild, or a glass of white.

One of the more outspoken regulars, Mr Norris Cole had this to say:

"Betty's Hotpots have been the cornerstone of Weatherfield life for over 40 years, I don't tend to eat them myself, but it's a travesty what they're doing."

With increased competition by nearby bars and restaurants, is this a last ditch effort to bring local boozers into the 21st century?
